We have had a very busy first few weeks back at school. The children have been working hard and we have been excited to start our learning.
If you have any concerns at all throughout the year, please don't hesitate to call in either before or after school. For those of you in work, I can always be reached either via the school telephone or my email which is TurnerR52@Hwbcymru.net
For non urgent concerns Monday mornings would be the best time to catch me.
Please could I ask again that children bring bags that are as small as possible to school. We do not have a separate cloakroom and so all bags and coats have to be stored in the classroom.
Our P.E. days will be Tuesday for outdoor games and Friday for indoor P.E.
The children will be bringing their spellings home on a Monday. Please encourage them to practise them little and often throughout the week. Please could the books be returned to school on a Thursday in preparation for the test on Thursday afternoons. Please see document below for ideas to help your child learn their spellings. It would be lovely to see at least two ways you have practised each week in your book.
Homework books will come home on a Friday, please could these be returned by the following Wednesday to allow time for marking.
Please could you encourage your child to log on to their abacus maths games (link on homework page). These games are an excellent way of developing fluency in mental maths. The site also contains a number of helpful videos showing the calculation methods the children will be taught in class. If there is any trouble logging in or your child has forgotten their username/ password, let me know and I can write it down for them.
Please see our pupil voice ideas for our new topic - The World in Union.
